Tyap also known as Katab or Kataf is a language spoken in Zangon-Kataf, Kaura and Jema'a Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, Nigeria by the Atyap people.
It belongs to the Plateau group of languages which also includes Akum and Tarok languages.
Tyap language has approximately 500,000 native speakers.
The language has 7 dialects; Fantswam, Gworok, Sholyio, Takad, Mabatado, Tyecarak and Tyuku.
