Éwé Language

Éwé also known as Ewe or Eʋe or Eʋegbe or Efe or Ehwe or Krepe or Popo or Vhe is a language spoken in Eastern and Volta regions of Ghana, and Maritime and Plateaux regions in Togo by the Ewe people.

It belongs to the Gbe group of languages which also includes Fon, Gen and Adja languages.

Éwé language has approximately 21,000,000 native speakers.

The language has 19 dialects; Anglo, Awuna, Hudu, Kotafoa, Adángbe, Wací, Wancé, Fodome, Agu, Danyi, Kpelen, Avɛ́no, Vhlin, Kpándo, Pekí, Gbín, Evedome, Hó and Agave.
