Basaa Language

Basaa also known as Basa or Bassa or Bicek or Bikyek or Bisaa or Mbele or Mee or Mvele or Northern mbene or Tupe is a language spoken in Nyong-and-Kéllé division of the Centre region, Nkam and Sanaga-Maritime divisions of the Littoral region, the Océan division of the South region, and the Menoua division of the West region in Southern Cameroon by the Basaa people.

Basaa language has approximately 800,000 native speakers.

The language has 12 dialects; Bakem, Bon, Bibeng, Diboum, Log, Mpo, Mbang, Ndokama, Basso, Ndokbele, Ndokpenda and Nyamtam.

Note: The sounds w do not occur in Basaa language.
