Bassa also known as is a language spoken in Grand Bassa, Margibi, Bong and Montserrado Counties in Liberia and Freetown in Sierra leone by the Bassa people.

It belongs to the Kru group of languages which also includes Klao and Wané languages.

Bassa language has approximately 1,000,000 native speakers.
