Sebat Bet Gurage Language

Sebat Bet Gurage also known as Central west gurage or Gouraghie or Guragie or Gurague or West gurage is a language spoken in West Gurage Zone by the Gurage/Sebat bet people.

It belongs to the Gurage group of languages .

Sebat Bet Gurage language has approximately 3,000,000 native speakers.

The language has 7 dialects; Chaha, Ezha, Muher, Geta, Gumer, Inor and Endegegn.

 

Sebat Bet means seven houses. This explains the seven dialects
