Masaba Language

Masaba also known as Gisu or Lugisu or Masaaba or Abasonga is a language spoken in Eastern Uganda.

Masaba language has approximately 3,000,000 native speakers.

A person who speaks Masaba is known as mgisu.

The language has 6 dialects; Gisu, Kisu, Syan, Tachoni, Dadiri and Buya.

Masaba is the local name of Mount Elgon and the name of the son of the ancestor of the Gisu tribe
