Venda Language

Venda also known as Tshivenda or Setswetla or Luvenda or Chivenda or Cevenda is a language spoken in Matabeleland, Masvingo and Midlands Provinces in Zimbabwe and Limpopo Province in the north of South africa by the Venda| Batswetla people.

Venda language has approximately 3,000,000 native speakers.

A person who speaks Venda is known as Muvenda.

Venda is an official language in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The language has 7 dialects; Guvhu, Ilafuri, Lembetu, Manda, Mbedzi, Phani and Tavha-Tsindi.
