Marakwet Language

Marakwet also known as Marakweta is a language spoken in Elgeeyo-Marakwet county in Kenya by the Marakwet people.

It belongs to the Kalenjin group of languages which also includes Keiyo, Kipsigis, Nandi, Pokot, Sabaot, Terik, Tugen and Kupsabiny languages.

Marakwet language has approximately 500,000 native speakers.

The language has 2 dialects; Endo and Sambiri.
