Sabaot Language

Sabaot also known as Sebei is a language spoken in Mt Elgon area in both Uganda and Kenya by the Sabaot people.

It belongs to the Kalenjin group of languages which also includes Keiyo, Kipsigis, Marakwet, Nandi, Pokot, Terik, Tugen and Kupsabiny languages.

Sabaot language has approximately 400,000 native speakers.

The language has 6 dialects; Pok, Somek, Mosop, Kony, Bong'omek and Sabiny.
