Kono Language

Kono also known as Konnoh is a language spoken in Kono District of Sierra leone by the Kono people.

It belongs to the Mande group of languages which also includes Kpelle, Kuranko and Susu languages.

Kono language has approximately 500,003 native speakers.

The language has 15 dialects; Northern Kono(Sando), Central Kono(Fiama, Gbane, Gbane Kando, Gbense, Gorama Kono, Kamara, Lei, Mafindo, Nimi Koro, NimiYama, Penguia, Soa, Tankoro and Toli).
