Alur Language

Alur is a language spoken in Nebbi, Zombo, Pakwach and Arua districts in Uganda and around Lake Albert in Congo drc by the Alur people.

It belongs to the Lwo group of languages which also includes Dholuo, Acholi, Anuak, Päri, Shilluk and Thuri languages.

Alur language has approximately 2,000,000 native speakers.

The language has 4 dialects; Jonam, Wanyoro, Mambisa and Jokot.
