padhola
A branch of the Nilotic speaking people that migrated from the South Sudanese-Ethiopian region and settled in the modern-day Uganda. Often refered to as Luo Padhola. Padhola however, is an elliptic form of "Pa Adhola" meaning the "place of Adhola", the founding father of the Jopadhola people. Kenyan Luos refer to 'adhola' as a wound but the Ugandans refer to the word 'padhola' as 'you are in trouble'.
e.g.
