Teso Language

Teso also known as Iteso or Ateso is a language spoken in Eastern Uganda, Western Kenya and South sudan (very few) by the Teso people.

It belongs to the Ateker group of languages which also includes Turkana, Lango, Nyangatom, Toposa and Kumam languages.

Teso language has approximately 3,000,000 native speakers.

Note: The sounds f, q, v, x and z do not occur in Teso language.

The Teso are the second largest ethnic group in Uganda after the Baganda.
